The Role

We are looking for an experienced Groundwater Engineer to join our team and play a key role in delivering and managing projects. This position offers the opportunity to take technical ownership, mentor junior staff, and lead small project teams while remaining hands-on with analysis, modelling, and reporting.

You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle—from data interpretation and modelling through to stakeholder engagement and regulatory submissions—ensuring high standards of technical delivery and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse, interpret, and manage complex groundwater and environmental datasets
• Develop, calibrate, and review conceptual and numerical groundwater models
• Produce clear, concise, and well-structured technical reports for clients and regulators
• Lead and manage small project teams, including task allocation, mentoring, and quality assurance
• Deliver projects on time and within budget, maintaining high technical standards
• Coordinate and contribute to regulatory submissions and compliance processes
• Engage confidently with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders
• Support business development activities, including proposals and client relationship management
• Undertake and oversee site investigations and fieldwork where required
• Apply practical understanding of site constraints and real-world engineering challenges

About You

• A degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
• Proven experience in groundwater engineering or hydrogeology consultancy
• Strong technical capability in data analysis and groundwater modelling
• Demonstrated experience in managing projects and/or small teams
• Excellent report writing and communication skills
• Confidence engaging with regulators, clients, and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• A proactive, solution-focused approach
• Chartered status or progress toward professional accreditation is desirable
• A full driving licence is desirable (for site work)
